Vintage Pirates of the Caribbean Postcards

12 January 2009

Long before Pirates of the Caribbean was a billion dollar franchise starring Johnny Depp, it was a small park opening attraction in Disneyland on March 18th, 1967. The attraction was the last ride that Walt Disney himself played a role in designing.

Ever since I was a little swashbuckler, I've been a fan of the ride. One of my earliest memories are of that very ride in Walt Disney World. So it didn't take much hesitation to buy these awesome vintage postcards from Disneyland in 1967. These show the original illustrations used in the storyboarding that Walt referred to when designing this timeless attraction.

Ebay sure is great. Enjoy!
